Ed

We just pray that we do nothing to mess up what God has intrusted to us in our group.
Our prayers are to just want to listen two to three times as much as we talk.
The group has grown to 12 people.
New leaders are stepping up.
Love is the glue that is bonding the group together.
The best part is as we close in prayer every one prays aloud. amen thank GOD

I try to think of questions like baking a cake. You start off with basic ingredients/questions and build up to the cake/focal point.

Sometimes I will share first, and be vulnerable in front of the group to make them feel more comfortable about opening up in front of others.

We are currently reading a book that challenges us to think about how we are feeding our spiritual wellbeing in a society where there is so much emphasis on what we own and how we look to other people and even though it is a women's group, (you would think we could talk about anything!) this is a hard subject to approach.

As a leader, I found that when I am willing to start the conversation, it becomes alot easier for others to start to share. Opening my heart to the group allowed them to feel comfortable about opening their hearts.

Pastor Ed I love #3 in Leading Great Conversations. I think it is important that when your group starts to share that they feel safe, because safety encourages sharing and sharing allows God to work specifically on each persons spiritual growth.

Last night June 16th was our 2nd group meeting of 12. Knowing that I wanted the group to begin to FEEL connected like family, the ice breaker was used to allow each participant to offer a bit more of their skills at work and a funny thing that happened this week. We then watched a 10 minute portion of a DVD training on a method of Bible study that allows one to receive a personal lesson, word from the Lord. Some AWESOME questions were asked that sparked transparent sharing from everyone regarding their faith/beliefs and life as an Ambassador of Christ. The discussion was more like a tennis match with alternating double play. Everyone grew closer as a result, and the Holy Spirit worked His way of glorifying the Lord by a genuine expressed desire to enjoy each scripture as a personal love note from Jesus.

We took a group photo, prayed and remnants of that sharing is posted on our group website in order that we can look back and measure our growth as a family.
