In these Bible studies published by the Navigators, you can get a great handle on Bible books – and the God they are talking about.

We live in a culture where the beliefs and preferences of the individual are given final authority. Paul’s firm commitment to the church as ‘the pillar and foundation of the truth’ stands against the current. His letters to Timothy and Titus call us to re-establish the core beliefs of Christianity and affirm our convictions about the gospel. Paul’s priority in these letters is to make sure that the truth of the gospel is faithfully guarded and delivered to the next generation. Through these studies, we will be challenged to carry on the battle, armed with the truth of the gospel.
The Good and Beautiful God by James Bryan Smith
“God wants me to try harder.” “God blesses me when I’m good and punishes me when I’m bad.” “God is angry with me.” We all have ideas that we tell ourselves about God and how he works in our lives. Some are true–but many are false. James Bryan Smith believes those thoughts determine not only who we are, but how we live. In fact, Smith declares, the most important thing about a person is what they think about God. The path to spiritual transformation begins here. Turning to the Gospels, Smith invites you to put your ideas to the test to see if they match up with what Jesus himself reveals about God. A great book for new and mature believers alike – easy read and easy to lead! Growth group discussion questions accompany each chapter. See the book on CBD.com.
